PURPOSE: A CAD(Covariance-Based Adaptive Deinterlacing) device, a method thereof, and a hybrid deinterlacing device considering complexity, and a method thereof are provided to deinterlaces considering a plurality of edge directions. CONSTITUTION: A weight determining unit(130) calculates a reference weight for several directions of a reference pixel by selecting at least one reference pixel from several reference pixels. The weight determining unit determines an applied weight for the various directions of a target interpolation pixel. A pixel value calculating unit(140) calculates a pixel value of the target interpolation pixel. An interpolation unit(150) interpolates the target interpolation pixel.
