PURPOSE: A high light transmittance in-plan switching liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to overlap a common electrode with a data line, thereby shielding the data line.;CONSTITUTION: A gate insulating film covers the gate line. A data line(DL) vertically moves on the gate insulating film. Sub insulating films have the same size and shape on the data line. A protective film is formed on the sub insulating films.
