PURPOSE: A welding power supply and a welding voltage control method thereof are provided to achieve desired welding quality for any length and thickness of a welding cable by controlling the voltage of output welding power.;CONSTITUTION: A welding power supply(10) comprises a voltage detecting module(15) which detects voltage according to the connection of a welding cable and outputs the detected voltage to a microprocessor module, the microprocessor module(11) which calculates a predicted drop voltage from the voltage value applied from the voltage detecting module and the resistance valued of a welding cable calculated from the electric current of the welding cable detected by a current detecting module and controls a power control module to output welding voltage to compensate the predicted voltage drop, and the power control module(13) which regulates the voltage of welding power output to the welding cable in order to compensate voltage drop caused by the welding cable.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
