PURPOSE: An index searching method in a multiple antenna system is provided to divide a codebook into a specific number of groups, to select an optimal group, and to search for an optimal index within the selected group.;CONSTITUTION: An index sequence is rearranged in order to sequentially arrange index sequences of pre-coding coefficients in an orthogonal coordinate system(S301). A specific number of index groups is generated by equivalent division of the rearranged index(S303). An optimal index group is selected(S305).
