PURPOSE: An electronic commerce system and method thereof are provided to enable a purchaser to receive chance to purchase bidding products as discounted prices by using virtual money. CONSTITUTION: A web server includes a communication unit(40), an information storage unit(60), and a host unit(30). The communication unit provides the sales information of a bidding product including an initial sales price to a client terminal. The communication unit collects purchase information for virtual money and the bidding product from the client terminal. The information storage unit stores the purchase information and the sales information of the virtual money and the purchase information and the sales information of the bidding product. The host unit(30) includes a program for controlling a processor(32).
