PURPOSE: An apparatus for providing application information and executing application in a portable terminal including a touch screen is provided to reduce the input process in order to enter into main screen by outputting application information on the current screen.;CONSTITUTION: If application information request is detected, an application confirming unit(102) checks information about previously installed application. An output management unit(104) outputs the information about he checked application to the current screen. A display unit(110) outputs the information about the applications.
