PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition for treating pancreatic cancer and a method for screening a therapeutic agent are provided to effectively induce suppression or apoptosis of cancer stem cells and to prevent metastasis. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating pancreatic cancer contains pharmaceutically effective amount of microRNA containing nucleotide sequences selected from sequence numbers 1-22 or fragment thereof; and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. A composition for treating pancreatic cancer induces growth suppression, differentiation suppression, or apoptosis of the pancreatic cells. The microRNA fragment contains seed sequence of the microRNA. An oligonucleotide which is complementary to the microRNA is a primer, probe, or antagomir.
