PURPOSE: A pinch roll gap setting method and apparatus for a pre-winding machine are provided to prevent loose winding of a pre-winding machine by automatically setting a pinch roll gap according to the prior operating state of the pre-winding machine.;CONSTITUTION: A pinch roll gap setting method for a pre-winding machine comprises the steps of: calculating the number of rolled sheets not wound by a pre-winding machine consecutively(S220), lowering a pinch roll gap of the pre-winding machine to a set value if the calculated number is greater than a first number of sheets(S240), and controlling the pinch roll gap of the pre-winding machine to a larger initial value if the calculated number is less than the first number of sheets and the number of rolled sheets wound by the pre-winding machine is greater than a second number of sheets(S250).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
