PURPOSE: A display device and a control method thereof are provided to perform control based on user selection about an image displayed on a PIP(Picture-in-Picture) screen without switching main/sub screens.;CONSTITUTION: A pointer receiving unit(40) receives a pointer signal corresponding to user selection. A control unit(50) determines which either one of a first image or a second image a pointer corresponding to the received pointer signal is located at. If the pointer is located on the second image, the control unit processes a result in which an operation corresponding to the location of the pointer is performed.
