PURPOSE: A method for leaching magnesium from ferronickel slag at a low cost is provided to leach the magnesium at a low cost by proceeding a smashing step, a pyrolysis step, a leaching step, and a step of removing insoluble residues. CONSTITUTION: A method for leaching magnesium from ferronickel slag comprises following steps. The ferronickel slag is smashed. The ferronickel slag is thermally decomposed using ammonium salt. The thermally decomposed ferronickel slag leaches. Insoluble residues are removed by filtering. A step of smashing the ferronickel is performed at a grain size; excess 0 ~ less than 1mm. The reaction temperature during the thermal decomposition is 300~1000 C. The reaction time during the thermal decomposition is 5 to 120 minutes.
