PURPOSE: A measuring device for a metal plate and a controlling method thereof are provided to confirm the existence of a transfer and a correction state of a metal plate passing through a hot collector, thereby preventing accidents.;CONSTITUTION: A measuring device for a metal plate comprises a first measuring unit(20), a second measuring unit(22), an image filtering unit(30), and a controlling unit(40). The first measuring unit measures a metal plate being transferred to a hoe collector. The second measuring unit measures the metal plate coming out from the hot collector. The image filtering unit is connected to the first and second measuring units and extracts image patterns by receiving image signals of the first and second measuring units. The controlling unit is connected to the image filtering unit, thereby deciding whether the extracted image patterns and criteria image patterns are similar or not and whether the metal plate is normally transferred or not.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
