PURPOSE: A system for supporting a driver and a method for controlling the driving of a vehicle using the same are provided to implement an intelligence automatic vehicle controlling operation according to driving environment by verifying the optimal driving path of the vehicle.;CONSTITUTION: A system for supporting a driver includes detecting sensors and an electronic controlling unit. The detecting sensors detect other vehicles around a vehicle and generate detection information(S10, S20). The electronic controlling unit divides the surrounding region of the vehicle into a plurality of regions. The electronic controlling unit is based on detection information based on the detection sensors. The electronic controlling unit generates driving information for other vehicles and verifies the driving environment of the vehicle according to the driving information(S40).
