PURPOSE: An adaptive channel estimation method in a wireless telecommunication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to reduce noise components included in a final channel estimation value by improving channel estimation at a time axis.;CONSTITUTION: A receiver(200) receives a signal transmitted from a base station. A pilot signal extractor(210) obtains a channel estimation value by compensating a pilot symbol for a received signal outputted from the receiver. A time axis channel variation estimator(220) estimates channel variation at a time axis from the channel estimation value. A frequency axis channel variation estimator(230) estimates the channel variation at a frequency axis from the channel estimation value. An adaptive channel estimation controller(240) estimates a channel value in a data area by using either the estimated channel variation at the time axis or the estimated channel variation at the frequency axis. A data signal extractor(250) extracts a data signal by using the channel value at the data area estimated from the adaptive channel estimation controller.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
