PURPOSE: A device for increasing image quality using sharpness and color saturation and a method thereof are provided to quantify sharpness and color saturation according to whether an input image is a person image, thereby making picture quality better based on the quantified values.;CONSTITUTION: A quantification unit(120) calculates a sharpness quantification value and a color saturation quantification value about an input image according to an analysis result of an image analyzing unit(110). A parameter determining unit(130) determines a sharpness parameter and a color saturation parameter for increasing image quality. The sharpness parameter corresponds to the sharpness quantification value. The color saturation parameter corresponds to the color saturation quantification value. A parameter applying unit(140) applies the determined sharpness parameter and color saturation parameter to a frame of the input image.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
