PURPOSE: A system for generating methane gas based on multi-stepped anaerobic digestion baths is provided to prevent the reduction of digestion efficiency by continuously implementing re-circulation regardless of the malfunction of partial pumps. CONSTITUTION: A system for generating methane gas successively supplies organic materials into twelve chambers(C1 to C12) to generate methane gas. Bio blocks(B) are embedded in the chambers. Bacteria inhabit in the bio blocks. A first-stepped digestion bath is composed of the first chamber to the third chamber, and the organic material loading rate of the first-stepped digestion bath is high. The second stepped digestion bath and the third stepped digestion bath are respectively composed of the fourth chamber to the sixth chamber and of the seventh chamber to ninth chamber, and the organic material loading rates of the second-stepped digestion bath and the third stepped digestion bath are intermediate. The fourth-stepped digestion bath is composed of the tenth chamber to twelfth chamber, and the organic material loading rate of the fourth-stepped digestion bath is low. Fluid re-circulating parts are arranged at the lower part of each stepped chamber. A plurality of re-circulating pipes(L1 to L12) connecting the chambers is arranged at each digestion bath. Separated circulating pumps(P1 to P12) are arranged at each re-circulating pipe.
