PURPOSE: An air source water heater and an operation control method thereof are provided to extend the supply time of hot water without widely changed temperature of the hot water by arranging multiple compressors. CONSTITUTION: An air source water heater comprises a first compressor(111), a second compressor(112), a condenser(120), a water refrigerant heat exchange unit(240), an expansion part(130), an evaporator(140), a first path(161), a second path(171), and a path switching valve(150). The first and second compressors compress refrigerant. The condenser condenses the compressed refrigerant. The water refrigerant heat exchange unit is constituted to heat-exchange water and the condenser each other. The refrigerant is expanded in the expansion part and is evaporated in the evaporator. The first path connects an outlet port of the first compressor and an inlet port of the condenser. The second path connects the outlet port of the first compressor and a suction port of the second compressor. The path switching valve is arranged in the outlet of the first compressor and switches the paths to flow the discharged refrigerant into one of the first and second paths.
