PURPOSE: An environmentally-friendly method and device for cremating a dead body using supercritical water oxidation are provided to save energy by decomposing dead bodies at high decomposing speed even in the low temperature of 400-500C. CONSTITUTION: An environmentally-friendly method for cremating a dead body using supercritical water oxidation includes following steps. Water and oxidizing agent are injected to a furnace(100) where a dead body is placed to discompose the dead body with a supercritical water oxidation reaction. The oxidizing agent is selected at least one of oxygen, air, gas including the oxygen, oxygenated water solution, or liquid including the oxygen. The furnace is maintained over the critical temperature and the critical pressure of the water. The furnace maintains at 374-600C and 220-300bar.
