PURPOSE: A support plate structure for connecting a main structure of an engine to a receiving space for exhaust gas is provided to support and fix the receiving space while a ship moves. CONSTITUTION: A large two-cycle diesel engine comprises an engine main structure(1), a receiving space(16) for exhaust gas, a main support unit(22), and a plurality of vertical plate structures(100). The vertical plate structures are placed along a length of the receiving space. The vertical plate structures comprise an upper part mounted to the receiving space, and a lower part mounted to the engine main structure. One or more spacers are placed in between steel plates. The spacers fix gaps between steel plates.
