PURPOSE: A method for detecting radiation exposure is provided to quickly detect mtDNA deletion using primary PCR and secondary real-time PCR. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting radiation exposure comprises: a step of extracting DNA from a test sample; a step of performing PCR using a primer set for detecting 4977bp common deletion(CD) of a first mtDNA to obtain amplified products; a step of performing real-time PCR using a probe for detecting 4977bp DNA common deletion of mtDNA and a primer set for detecting 4977bp common deletion of second mtDNA; and a step of comparing Ct value from a control group and reference Ct value.
