NOVEL PHOTORHABDUS TEMPERATA M1021 AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PESTS USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A novel Photorhabdus temperata M1021 and a composition containing the same for preventing pest are provided to ensure excellent antibacterial effect against harmful bacteria and to prevent various crops from damage due to pest. CONSTITUTION: A Photorhabdus temperate M1021(deposit number: KACC91627P) is isolated from entomopathogenic nematode. The novel strain has an insecticidal effect against Lepidoptera pest including Galleria mellonella, Plutella xylostella, Spodoptera litura, Alcis angulifera, Adoxophyes orana, Ptycholoma lecheana, Cydia Kurokoi, Grapholita molesta, Lyonetia prunifoliella, Carposina sasakii, Spodoptera exigua, Diaphania indica, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis, Chilo suppressalis, or Helicoverpa armigera. A composition for preventing pest contains Photorhabdus temperate or culture thereof as an active ingredient.
