PURPOSE: A carbon fiber-carbon nanotube composite is provided to increase adhesion of carbon nanotube to a carbon fiber surface by combining carbon fiber, support layer a reinforcing layer, a catalyst, and carbon nanotube in order. CONSTITUTION: A carbon fiber-carbon nanotube composite comprises carbon fiber(100), a supporting layer(200), a reinforcing layer(300), a catalyst for forming carbon nanotube, and a carbon nanotube layer(500). The supporting layer is one or more material selected from aluminum, silicon, silicon oxide, and aluminum oxide, and is laminated on the carbon fiber. The reinforcing layer is material selected from metal or metal oxide different with the material of the supporting layer, and laminated on the supporting layer. The catalyst for forming carbon nanotube is on the reinforcing layer. The carbon nanotube layer is formed on the catalyst.
