PURPOSE: A device for recognizing a distance to an object using diffraction elements and light sources is provided to detect depth information with a simple configuration and to three-dimensionally recognize the motion of a user.;CONSTITUTION: A device for recognizing a distance to an object comprises a lighting unit, a light receiving unit, an image processing unit. The lighting unit comprises one or more light sources and one or more diffraction elements, thereby outputting lights having two or more different focusing points. The light receiving unit comprises an image sensor and receives lights returned by being reflected or scattered by an object. The image processing unit detects a distance to the object based on images in which the light receiving unit receives the lights output by the lighting unit and reflected or scattered by the object.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
