PURPOSE: An image recognizing device and an image monitoring method thereof are provided to divide a monitoring zone into unit monitoring zones, thereby providing a monitoring result to an external system while monitoring an image.;CONSTITUTION: If a monitoring event is generated by an event generating unit, a monitoring unit requests an image processing unit to recognize and track an object for an image of a camera which is logically connected to the monitoring event(S303). The image processing unit starts recognizing and tracking the object for the image inputted from the camera(S305). An external device connecting unit receives object recognition information from the image processing unit.
