PURPOSE: A channel zapping method and a broadcasting receiving apparatus applying the same are provided to select a channel group of hierarchically classified channel groups and to selectively view a channel of the selected channel group. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting receiving apparatus sets up a selected channel group as a group zapping target range(S810). If a channel zapping command is inputted, the broadcasting receiving apparatus performs zapping to the next channel within a channel group which a current channel belongs to(S820,S830). If a channel group zapping command is inputted, the broadcasting receiving apparatus performs zapping to the channel within the other channel group(S840,S850).
