The valve housing(2) has one flow path from a first connector(3) for a melt supply via a melt channel to a first granulator connector(5). A second flow path runs between a second melt supply connector(4) and a second granulator connector(6) via a separate, second melt channel. The first and/or second melt channels have a start-up flow diverting valve. In the production position the valve opens a connection between the first melt supply connector(3) and the first granulator connection(5) and/or a connection between the second melt supply connector(4) and the second granulator connection(6). In the start-up position the valve closes the link between the first granulator connection and first melt supply connector and/or the link between the second granulator connector and the second melt supply connector and/or connects the second melt connector to a by-pass opening for dumping melt. Start-up diverting valves for both the first and second melt channels are connected to each other and operated by a common actuator so that both valves can be simultaneously set their production or start-up position. Both valves are in a common valve body. In a design variation the second granulator connector may be linked to a melt channel and a diverting valve connects the first melt supply connector to either the first or second granulator connector. In the latter design a third granulator connector connects with the melt channel and is linked to the melt supply connector by the diverting valve. The start-up diverting valve has a cylindrical body with separate production flow channels and moves axially between the different positions. One or more by-pass channels are incorporated in a valve body. Quick release couplings link the melt supply and granulator connectors to a melt source and granulator.
