PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a large driving gear for a rolling roll in steel making equipment is provided to reduce the costs for raw materials by replacing a forging gear with a welding gear. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a large driving gear for a rolling roll in steel making equipment comprises the steps of: forging and processing a raw material, shrink-fitting the roughed material, welding the shrunken material, removing stress from the welded material through heat treatment, inspecting the welded material, quenching and tempering the inspected material, finish-cutting and forming gear teeth on the material, carburizing the material, performing secondary stabilizing heat treatment of the carburized material, and polishing and finally inspecting the material.
