Adaptive method and system for operating surveillance camera system based upon statistics

PURPOSE: An adaptive monitoring camera system operation method and a system thereof are provided to reduce non-detection probability and false alarm probability by using dynamic threshold based on statistical probability. CONSTITUTION: A monitoring camera(210) detects an event in a specific area. A storing unit(220) stores time slot statistical information about the event generation in the specific area. An operation unit(230) operates the detection number of the event by the monitoring camera. A controlling unit(240) compares the event detection probability operated by the operation unit with the statistical information stored in the storing unit. The controlling unit controls the threshold of the monitoring camera according to the comparison result.
