Intracrine c-Kit Signaling as a Novel Therapeutic Target of Brain Tumors

PURPOSE: A method for screening agents for preventing or treating brain tumor is provided to immediately apply as a therapeutic agent for brain tumor and to ensure safety. CONSTITUTION: A method for screening agents for preventing or treating brain tumor comprises: a step of contacting a test material to cells containing c-kit gene; a step of measuring c-kit expression level or c-kit phosphorylation; and a step of selecting the test material which causes down-regulation of c-kit expression or phosphorylation. A method for analyzing responsiveness of tumor patient by a material for preventing or treating tumor comprises: a step of contacting the material to cells containing c-kit gene from the patient; a step of measuring c-kit phosphorylation; and a step of determining responsiveness in case of down-regulation of the c-kit phosphorylation.
