PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing carbon-nickel composite aerogel and a method for manufacturing a super capacitor electrode using the same are provided to control the size and the structure of pores formed in the aerogel by controlling the content of magnesium acetate. CONSTITUTION: Magnesium acetate is added in the mixed solution of formaldehyde and resorcinol. The formaldehyde and the resorcinol are hydrolyzed and condensed to form chains by the magnesium acetate at temperature between 25 and 90 degrees Celsius. Chains are combined to form clusters. The clusters are combined to form gelated composition in a network. The gelated composition is substituted by acetone or methanol. The substituted composition is aged to reinforce the network structure of the gel. The aged composition is substituted using liquid carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide becomes supercritical state to form resorcinol-formaldehyde(RF) aerogel. The RF aerogel is carbonized and carried in a nickel solution.
