PURPOSE: A bioelectrochemical hydrogen generating apparatus and a method for operating the same are provided to improve the generation amount of hydrogen by reducing internal resistance and resistance transferred to the hydrogen. CONSTITUTION: A reaction bath(10) includes a hollow space. A first supporting stand(12) is arranged in the reaction bath. An anode(14) containing electrochemically active microorganism(13) is arranged on the surface of the first supporting stand. A second supporting stand(15) is arranged in the reaction bath. Nanocarbon powder(16) is coated on the surface of the second supporting stand. A cathode(18) containing a binder with sulfonic group binds the second supporting stand and the nanocarbon powder.
