PURPOSE: A 2,4-Dichloro-benzoic acid (2,3,4-trihydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide is provided to inhibit beta-ketoacyl acyl carrier protein synthase(KAS) and to enable use as an antibiotic by inhibiting fatty acid synthsis. CONSTITUTION: A 2,4-Dichloro-benzoic acid (2,3,4-trihydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide is represented by chemical formula 1. The 2,4-Dichloro-benzoic acid (2,3,4-trihydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide prevents and treats infectious diseases by microorganism including an effective amount of the 2,4-Dichloro-benzoic acid (2,3,4-trihydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide, derivatives thereof or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
