PURPOSE: A gateway for connecting a smart distribution management system with an advanced metering infrastructure system and a system connecting method thereof are provided to connect a smart distribution management system and an AMI system which have different structures by a distribution management-AMI connecting gateway. CONSTITUTION: An AMI(Advanced Metering Infrastructure) connecting unit(110) transmits and receives data of an AMI system to connect with the AMI system. A distribution management connecting unit(120) transceives data of a smart distribution management system to connect with the smart distribution management system. A share memory unit(130) stores the data of the AMI data to enable the smart distribution management system to obtain the data of the AMI system.
