PURPOSE: A system and a method for classifying and searching a video, and a video classifying and searching server therefor are provided to recognize the character information in video and stores the character information with the video, thereby easily classifying and searching the video. CONSTITUTION: A server for classifying and searching video(200) searched character information by scanning each frame of video. If the character information is included, the server for classifying and searching video extracts the character information to store the information with the video and time information of the frame. If a search of specific character is requested from a user terminal, video relevant to time information which is mapped with the searched character is transmitted to a user terminal.
