Concentrating Process for Recovering Valuable Metals from Spent Automotive Catalysts

PURPOSE: A method of recovering valuable metal from waste catalyst for a vehicle is provided to save reagent in a chemical process since valuable metal and metallic oxide can be recovered according to the size difference of particles after grinding waste catalyst for a vehicle in a physical manner. CONSTITUTION: A method of recovering valuable metal from waste catalyst for a vehicle comprises next steps. Waster catalyst is broken to a size of 2m using a hammer crusher and a roll crusher. The broken product is deagglomerated using a frictional deagglomerating unit. The deagglomrated product is classified into big particles and fine particles using a classifier. A platinum group of metal and cerium oxide are recovered from the fine particles.
