PURPOSE: A distress position signal transmitter equipped in a high-buoyant life jacket and a distress rescue system using the same are provided to transmit long time distress signals. CONSTITUTION: A distress position transmitter comprises a sensor unit(120), a setting input part(130), a GPS receiver(140), an RF communication unit(150), a memory unit(160), and a controller(170). The sensor unit senses moisture or salt concentration. The setting input part inputs the power on/off setting and SOS on/OFF setting. The GPS receiver receives GPS satellite signals and produces position coordinates. The RF communication unit wirelessly transmits the distress signal to the outside and receives radio signals from the outside. The memory unit stores the registration information and the position coordinates calculated from the GPS receiver.
