Artificial Marble Composition, Artificial Marble Using the Same and Method of Preparing Thereof

PURPOSE: An artificial marble composition, an artificial marble using thereof, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to easily manufacture the light weight artificial marble by applying expandable resin beads with the low specific gravity. CONSTITUTION: An artificial marble composition contains 100 parts of hardening resin by weight, and 0.5~30 parts of expandable bead by weight. The hardening resin is selected from the group consisting of an acryl resin, an unsaturated polyester resin, an epoxy-based resin, and their copolymers. The expandable bead includes the specific gravity of 0.01~0.8 grams per cubic centimeters, and the average particle diameter of 0.1~60 micrometers. The composition additionally includes an additive selected from the group consisting of an inorganic filler, a cross-linking agent, a coupling agent, a polymerization initiator, a marble chip, a curing accelerator, a coloring agent, a flame retardant, an antistatic agent, an antimicrobial agent, and an ultraviolet-absorbing agent.
