PURPOSE: A firewood stove using a downward combustion method is provided to uniformly burn solid fuel using a downward combustion method by reducing smoke and soot during combustion. CONSTITUTION: A firewood stove using a downward combustion method comprises a stove body(10), a stove pipe(50), a shielding plate, an operation lever(70), a variable exhaust member(80), and fuel supporting members(90). The bottom end of the stove pipe penetrates through the top end of the stove body so that the stove pipe can be located under the fuel input port of the stove body. The shielding plate opens the bottom of the fuel input port to prevent smoke from flowing out. When the operation lever is forward pulled, the variable exhaust member is opened and rapidly ignites fuel. The bottom ends of the fuel supporting members are inclined from the bottom of the fuel input port toward center.
