PURPOSE: An edge-based deinterlacing method using a weighted value and an image processing device using the same are provided to quickly perform deinterlacing with better picture quality. CONSTITUTION: An image processing device determines a local edge direction of an interpolation target pixel based on pixel values of upper and lower scan lines of the interpolation target pixel(S410). The device calculates an interpolation coefficient vector of the interpolation target pixel. The device interpolates a pixel value of the interpolation target pixel by applying a weighted value(S420~S440).
