SLUDGE REDUCTION APPARATUS FOR TREATMENT OF EXCESS SLUDGE

PURPOSE: A sludge reducing apparatus for treating excessive sludge is provided to protect the operational processes of an existing sewage and wastewater treating plant while operating the apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A sludge reducing apparatus for treating excessive sludge includes a sludge transferring pump(11), a mixing and solubilizing bath(12), an alkali material tank(13), a chemical supplying pump(14), and a rapid circulating and mixing unit(16). The chemical supplying pump softens sludge by supplying alkali materials from the alkali material tank to sludge from a final settling bath(2) and in the mixing and solubilizing bath. The rapid circulating and mixing unit accelerates the solubilization of the sludge. The solubilized sludge is introduced into an aerobic digesting bath(21) to be digested. The digested solution is separated into solid materials and dissolved organic materials. The solid materials are transmitted to a dehydrating sludge storing bath, and the dissolved organic materials are transmitted to an initial settling bath.
