PURPOSE: A gabion for ecology restoration and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce and absorb wave pressure by constructing the gabion on a river or seashore. CONSTITUTION: A gabion for ecology restoration comprises a gabion mat(110), filler(120), multiple jar type blocks(130), a gabion cover(140), and binding members(150). The gabion mat is formed by tying multiple wires and is filled with the filler. The jar type blocks are arranged inside the gabion mat and provide a habitat space. The gabion cover is fixed to the gabion mat to cover the exposed outer surfaces of the jar type blocks. The binding members bind the jar type blocks to the gabion cover.
