PURPOSE: A series connection type torsion vibration damper having nonlinear property is provided to gradually use the damper as a stopper in a damper operation section, and to reduce the noise vibration of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A series connection type torsion vibration damper includes an inertia plate, a cover plate, a first retaining plate(5), a second retaining plate, a compression coil spring(9), and a driven plate(11). The inertia plate is combined to an output shaft of the engine. The cover plate combines to the inertia plate, and forms a storage space for oil. The first retaining plate is connected to the inertia plate, and rotates with the inertia plate. The second retaining plate is integrated with the first retaining plate and the inertia plate. The compression coil spring is located on the first and second retaining plates to the columnar direction for absorbing the vibration and shock applied to the rotational direction. The driven plate is elastically supported by the compression coil spring.
