FIELD: machine building.;SUBSTANCE: proposed method of protecting two-piece radial-flow compressor with piece separate bypass circuit, back-to-back arrangement of sections and discharge device with balance cylinder, low- and high-pressure chambers between pieces consists in that gas pressure difference between low- and high-pressure chambers is limited by using normally-closed valve arranged in channel communicating discharge device low- and high-pressure chambers to open at pressure difference there between exceeding tolerable magnitude set proceeding from compressor thrust bearing strength.;EFFECT: higher reliability and safety.
