The system (200) for tracing the contours of the endocardium and epicardium of the heart in the image calculated according to the image data along the long axis using the pattern for creating curves for tracing the endocardial and epicardial contours in the image, and the system (200) contains:! - a template positioning unit (205) for positioning the template based on image data along a short axis; ! - a scar map initialization unit (210) for initializing the scar map for use when adapting a template for an image based on a previous segmentation of the surfaces of the endocardium and epicardium based on the image data along the short axis; and! - adaptation block (220) for adapting the template for the image using the criterion function, the criterion function contains members describing the approximation of the template to the image features, and members describing the internal interactions within the template, and in which at least one member of the criterion function is created based on scar cards. ! 2. The system (200) according to claim 1, further comprising a scar map updating unit (230) for updating the scar map based on an adapted template. ! 3. The system (200) according to claim 1, in which the scar map is initialized based on the endocardial and epicardial cells according to the previous segmentation of the image data along the short axis. ! 4. The system (200) according to claim 3, in which the block (210) of initialization of the scar map contains:! - labeling unit (212) for labeling endocardial and epicardial cells obtained from a previous segmentation of the endocardial and epicardial surfaces as scar tops, when the cell vertices satisfy the labeling condition based on short image data
