FIELD: electricity.;SUBSTANCE: according to the proposed method, a reactive component determined by reactive currents of a harmonic of the main frequency and higher harmonics, the share of which is to be reduced, is extracted in the form of equivalent energy of a sequence of unipolar, periodically repeating width-modulated current pulses, duration of which changes according to the law of variation of an envelope in the extracted reactive component of equivalent current, and after its conversion, it is returned into the power system in the form of active energy by means of the main frequency current so that the modules of currents flowing along each of their phases to the specified n - phase non-linear active - reactive load, have the value equal to either the one previously specified or equal to the value of the current module in the reference phase, at the same time the reference phase is previously selected from n - feeding phases of a non-symmetrical power supply system according to the condition of minimum value of current module.;EFFECT: reduction of higher harmonic components levels in a supplying power system and increased efficiency of power usage.;1 dwg
