METHOD OF IDENTIFYING NOISE SOURCE OF VEHICLE

FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: after preliminary identification and ranking of noise sources, the vehicle is placed on a horizontal platform so that its driving wheels do not touch the surface of the platform. In the mode for selecting rotation speed of the crank-shaft of the engine, external noise from the left and right side of the vehicle for the gears of interest is recorded into memory; spectrograms of the recorded noise are obtained; calculated values of characteristic frequencies and their harmonics corresponding to each gear are obtained; final identification of noise sources is performed, as well as their ranking in the range of the rotation speed of the crank-shaft from idle run to maximum.;EFFECT: invention enables to obtain full information on the nature of noise from a vehicle.;1 dwg
