FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: disclosed is use of sludge formed during lime treatment and coagulation of raw water at a water treatment plant of a thermal power plant and having the chemical composition CaCO₃ + MgO + Mg(OH)₂ + Fe(OH)₃ + SiO₂ + Al(OH)₃, as a sorbent for biological treatment of industrial waste water.
