FIELD: information technology.;SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of processing faults in data exchange devices in a network, which are connected by mutual redundant dual communication lines - operating communication line and backup communication line, wherein the condition of the connection of the dual communication lines in the data exchange devices is detected; when the operating communication line is in a faulty condition and the backup communication line is in a connection condition, the backup communication line is switched to the operating communication line. The invention discloses a system for processing faults and an Ethernet network data exchange device. Using a ring structure of mutual redundant dual communication lines in the invention, when there are multipoint errors, network accessibility is guaranteed by switching to the backup communication line.
