There is provided a method for use in at least one machine for determining whether an operating measurement variable, which represents the power of the at least one machine, has an abnormal value, is provided. The method includes detecting operational data including sensor data from the at least one machine, and calculating at least one exceptional anomaly scoring from the collected operational data.
