Safety cork (2) for bottle (1) comprises a base (4) with diameter (d) and a cork head (3) of diameter (D) forming an abutting surface on the neck of the bottle. A cork-locking cage (5) has a connector on the outer side of the bottle neck. The head of the cork comprises a lower part (8) forming a single piece with the base of the cork and an upper part (9) fixed to the lower part and comprises a soft and elastic material. An independent claim is included for a method of manufacturing the cork.
