Polymer composition exhibiting a modified absorption- and transmission behavior, preferably for photo bioreactors made of plastic moldings, exposed to sunlight- or artificial light sources, comprises an inorganic- or an organic reflector for reflecting ultraviolet radiation. The polymer comprising conventional standard additives, optionally comprises one or a combination of: e.g. (i) an inorganic- or an organic near infrared absorbing agent for absorbing long wave radiation; and (ii) an inorganic- or organic reflector for reflecting visible, near infrared- or infrared radiation. Polymer composition exhibiting a modified absorption- and transmission behavior, preferably for photo bioreactors made of plastic moldings, exposed to sunlight- or artificial light sources, comprises an inorganic- or an organic reflector for reflecting ultraviolet radiation. The polymer comprising conventional standard additives optionally comprises one or a combination of: (i) an inorganic- or an organic near infrared absorbing agent for absorbing long wave radiation; (ii) an inorganic- or organic reflector for reflecting visible, near infrared- or infrared radiation; (iii) an optical brightening agent or fluorescent dye for converting the absorbed ultraviolet, the visible and/or the near infrared radiation, into long-wavelength light or fluorescent light; (iv) a photochromic dye for light-intensity-dependent modification of the transmission behavior of the plastic molding; and (v) an antimicrobial additive for prevention or reduction of organic deposits in the photo bioreactor.
